Operations Manager – Combined Cycle Power Plant

About the role

The Operations Manager (Combined Cycle) will report to the Plant Manager and lead all operations personnel. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operation of the power plant, overseeing budgeting, planning, commissioning, and performance improvement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure personnel and equipment safety while maintaining high availability and reliability.
• Supervise plant operations, implement and maintain operating procedures, and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Respond promptly to plant emergencies, act as incident controller, and execute emergency procedures.
• Plan scheduled outages to optimise commercial availability and evaluate unit performance, recommending corrective actions.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of incidents and unit trips, implement recommendations, and prepare operational reports for PPA billing and LTSA calculations.
• Maintain an operations data bank, trend critical equipment parameters, and produce weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc reports.
• Review and update plant policies and procedures to align with current goals and industry best practices.
• Ensure operations staff are qualified, trained, and authorised for their responsibilities.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced candidates with a background in power plant operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead operations teams and manage plant performance.
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
