Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

A Health & Safety Specialist is needed to manage daily occupational health and safety activities across a factory and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The role works closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse and HR teams to improve the factory's safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety training and HSE induction training for new employees.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor PPE use and inspect machinery, equipment, tools and work areas for safety compliance.
• Develop and maintain HSE procedures, SOPs, emergency plans and safe work practices.
• Organize fire drills, emergency response and evacuation exercises.
• Support internal HSE audits, keep safety records and prepare regular HSE reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in H&S, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a production environment.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or similar HSE certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Risk assessment, accident investigation, workplace inspections, safety training and emergency response.
• Familiarity with PPE, Permit to Work, LOTO, fire safety and safe work procedures.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and incident investigation skills.
