Project Officer – Bright Shea Project

About the role

The Project Officer will support the implementation of the Bright Shea Project, working directly with women shea producers, cooperatives, youth‑led enterprises and community institutions in Tamale and the wider Northern Region of Ghana. The role focuses on strengthening sustainable livelihoods and inclusive market systems through improved production, processing and business management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and lead field‑level implementation of project activities according to the detailed implementation plan and donor requirements.
• Support women producers, cooperatives and youth entrepreneurs in adopting better production, post‑harvest handling, aggregation, processing and business management practices.
• Facilitate capacity‑building events such as trainings, demonstrations, exchange visits and community meetings, providing technical back‑stopping to producer groups and local partners.
• Promote market‑system development by linking producers to buyers, strengthening cooperative governance, and facilitating access to financial services.
• Collect project data, track performance indicators, document lessons learned and prepare technical reports for CRS and donors.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete, properly filed and compliant with agency and donor standards.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with a strong interest in agricultural development and community‑based projects.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites in the Northern Region.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups.
