Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and procuring the goods and services needed for smooth operations. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and select reliable suppliers in line with organisational requirements.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and related documentation.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms and payment conditions to achieve cost savings.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services and resolve supply‑related issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with user departments to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Verify goods received against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases and contracts.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost‑effective alternatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems is desirable.
