Research Consultant – Investment Deal Closure Study (Ghana)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified research consultant to lead an expanded study on investment deal closure in Ghana. The assignment will build on the UK‑Ghana JET Programme’s previous work and deliver practical recommendations to improve investment conversion across priority sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Review the existing JET Programme study on investment facilitation and deal closure.
• Design the research methodology, sampling framework and data‑collection tools for the expanded study.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research with investors, businesses, government agencies and other ecosystem actors.
• Analyse barriers and success factors affecting investment deal closure across sectors.
• Compare stakeholder perspectives, identify systemic bottlenecks and validate findings through a stakeholder workshop.
• Produce an inception report, draft and final research reports, data collection instruments and clean datasets.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in economic, investment or private‑sector research.
• Demonstrated expertise in investment promotion, FDI facilitation, private‑sector development or capital markets.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills with a track record of high‑quality analytical reports and policy recommendations.
• Established network within the Ghanaian investment ecosystem and experience working with government, development partners or donor‑funded programmes.
