Sales Agronomist

About the role

The Sales Agronomist promotes and sells agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers and crop protection products while providing technical agronomic advice to farmers and distributors. The role combines field demonstrations, customer relationship management and sales target achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities, develop and maintain strong customer relationships, and achieve sales and collection targets.
• Conduct farm visits, field demonstrations, and provide agronomic recommendations to improve crop productivity.
• Generate weekly, monthly and yearly sales forecasts and maintain accurate sales records.
• Execute territory marketing plans, manage promotional materials, and ensure brand visibility at points of sale.
• Coordinate consumer engagement programmes, recruit extension agents and collaborate with farmer groups.
• Report weekly to the Territory Manager and provide market feedback to R&D.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in the agro‑chemical industry.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical mindset and problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent communication, presentation and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
