Sales Trainee Associate - FMCG

About the role

The Sales Associate Trainee supports the Sales team while receiving structured on-the-job training to develop the skills and knowledge needed for a career in FMCG sales. The role gives hands-on exposure to customer relationship management, route-to-market execution, merchandising, product knowledge, market intelligence, sales administration and business development, while helping achieve sales and customer service objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support Sales Associates with daily customer visits, route activities and sales operations.
• Assist in servicing retailers, distributors and other customers to ensure effective product distribution and availability.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and respond to customer enquiries; escalate complaints and service issues to the Territory Supervisor.
• Help with merchandising: product placement, pricing, stock rotation and attractive displays.
• Support promotional campaigns, product activations and brand visibility initiatives.
• Monitor product availability and stock levels, report potential stock-outs and apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation.
• Observe competitors' products, pricing, promotions and market presence, and collect market information during field visits.
• Assist in preparing daily sales reports and keeping accurate records of visits, sales activities and field observations.
• Learn company procedures on sales, stock handling, documentation and customer service, and work with Sales, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance and other teams.
• Take part in training, coaching and field learning, and perform other duties assigned by the Territory Supervisor.
