Senior Procurement Officer – Surgical Supplies

About the role

The Senior Procurement Officer (Surgical) will lead the sourcing and purchasing of all surgical‑related items and consumables for the centre. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will ensure that the right products are available at the right time, cost and quality to support clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Procure surgical, clinical and non‑clinical consumables, managing the full purchase cycle from request to order.
• Maintain inventory levels, stock control and minimise waste through close coordination with stores and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with organisational goals and value‑for‑money principles.
• Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships and ensure timely payments in collaboration with finance.
• Generate purchase requests, purchase orders and accurate data entry in the Hospital Information System.
• Prepare delivery reports, monitor KPIs and deputise for other procurement officers as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain or procurement within health‑care or medical centres.
• Proven track record in category management, high‑value medical contracts and strategic procurement planning.
• Experience with various contracting and reimbursement models, change‑management programmes and multi‑tier supplier environments.
• Strong negotiation abilities and knowledge of dispute‑resolution tools.
