Shift Charge Engineer - Cryogenic and Fractionation Processing

About the role

GenserEnergy is hiring a Shift Charge Engineer for its Prestea Gas Conditioning Plant in Ghana, covering the cryogenic and fractionation processing module. The post reports directly to the Operations Superintendent and sits within Operations & Maintenance, Midstream and the Gas Conditioning Plant division. The engineer keeps the plant safe, reliable and efficient while producing natural gas liquids.

Key responsibilities

• EPC support: review AFCs, P&IDs and commissioning checklists, red lines and as-built drawings, and assess equipment integrity (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, towers, valves).
• Support project specifications, cost estimates, schedules, simulations and modeling, and manage warranty and punch list issues.
• Operations support: investigate incidents, log data in the CMMS, prepare permit-to-work documentation and run control room switching and isolation procedures.
• Carry out routine equipment inspections and support predictive and preventive maintenance to avoid catastrophic failures.
• Maintain hazard analyses, regulatory documentation and accurate records of process data and maintenance activities.
• Take part in HAZOP reviews and process safety management (EIS, PSM, MOC), aiming for zero accidents.

Required profile

• BSc in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in midstream and downstream management, distribution and operations.
• Prior experience in gas industrial operations (piping and instrumentation, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, valves).

Required skills

• Familiarity with process safety management, OSHA, EPA and EEOC regulations.
• Instrumentation and industrial automation, SCADA and HMI supervision systems, PLC-PAC programming and industrial networks.
