Superintendent, Mill Maintenance

About the role

The Mill Maintenance Superintendent leads all mechanical, electrical and reliability maintenance activities for the process plant (crushing, grinding, gravity, CIL/CIP, and associated tailings and reagent systems) at the Oko West operation. It is a site-based role combining regular office work with time in production areas, where PPE and strict health and safety compliance are mandatory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mill maintenance, develop maintenance strategies aligned with production goals, coach supervisors, tradespeople and contractors, set performance expectations and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage the department's operating and capital budgets, monitor costs, coordinate procurement of spare parts, tools, materials and services, maintain critical inventory and evaluate contractor performance.
• Prepare regular maintenance performance reports and track equipment availability, MTBF and MTTR.

Required profile

• Minimum 7-10 years of maintenance experience in a mineral processing plant, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade certification with extensive experience.
• Knowledge of a language other than French, as the sites are international.
• Preferred: experience in remote-site or developing-country mining operations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of gold processing equipment (crushers, mills, thickeners, CIL/CIP circuits, pumps, conveyors).
• CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo or Pronto.
• Reliability maintenance strategies (RCM, TPM, condition monitoring).
• Budget management, leadership and organizational skills.
