Station Officer – Radio Univers

About the role

The University of Ghana is seeking a Station Officer to lead the daily operations of Radio Univers. Reporting to the General Manager, the role ensures that broadcast and digital output aligns with the university’s mission and serves its audience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise unit heads and oversee effective daily delivery of all station functions.
• Develop and execute platform‑specific content strategies for digital and social media, monitor analytics and refine messaging to maximise audience engagement.
• Manage media relations and public communications, including press releases, campus stakeholder engagement and external visibility initiatives.
• Analyse audience feedback, engagement data and performance metrics to continuously improve programming.
• Coordinate logistical needs, ensuring resources are available and used appropriately.
• Maintain high‑quality broadcast and digital content that meets the interests of the university and its stakeholders.
• Assist the General Manager in ensuring compliance with national and university regulations.
• Implement public safety measures for station events and ensure they meet university standards.
• Support advocacy and mission‑driven communication initiatives, positioning the station as a trusted voice for civic awareness and public education.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in communication, media or a related discipline (professional certification is an advantage).
• Minimum three years of experience in broadcast and digital media.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
