Winder Driver Trainer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Winder Driver Trainer to join AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi Gold Mine. The role involves coordinating training, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance of winder drivers and cage operators with statutory and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and record Winder Driver training according to the approved training plan.
• Monitor statutory inspections of winders, material transport and slinging activities to ensure compliance with LI2182, Ghanaian regulations and the site Environmental Management Plan.
• Develop and maintain risk mitigation plans for all winder‑related training activities.
• Provide reporting inputs to the Maintenance Manager – Underground to support operational readiness and maintenance scheduling for winders, shafts and ropes.
• Coordinate departmental budgeting, evaluate cost impacts and identify cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience as a Winder Driver.
• Proven experience training winder drivers from entry level to certified competency.
• Project‑management experience in a mining environment.
• Valid MINCOM certification for Winder Drivers.

Required skills

• MINCOM certification for Winder Drivers.
• Knowledge of Man and Rock winders.
• Understanding of AC and DC winder operations and proactive maintenance strategies.
• Ability to design and deliver certification‑level training programmes.
