Winder Engineer – Electrical

About the role

The Electrical Winder Engineer will join AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi Mine team to ensure the winding equipment is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. This role supports the mine’s transition to a fully mechanised, high‑throughput operation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control the quality of maintenance for all winding equipment.
• Apply HSE regulations and safety standards, conduct inspections, audits and JHAs.
• Investigate injuries, incidents and environmental events, and develop corrective action plans.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian government approvals and the site’s Environmental Management Plan.
• Analyse process interruptions using continuous‑improvement tools.
• Define roles, recruit and develop staff in line with AGA localisation objectives.
• Communicate policies, provide leadership guidance and maintain an effective electrical maintenance strategy.

Required profile

• Experienced electrical engineer with a background in mining or heavy‑industry winding equipment.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and safety‑first culture.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage training programmes and drive continuous improvement.
