Wood Lab Technician

About the role

A company in the wood processing industry is recruiting a Wood Lab Technician in Asikuma, near Akosombo, in the Eastern Region. The postholder conducts laboratory tests on wood products such as utility poles, analyses their chemical composition and properties and supports quality control. Accommodation is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests on wood samples to assess chemical composition, moisture content and other properties.
• Prepare and analyse samples, documenting results accurately.
• Support quality control inspections and compliance with required standards.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment while following safety procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, chemical testing and safety practices.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in laboratory testing, wood treatment or quality control is an advantage; applicants without direct wood-testing experience are encouraged to apply as practical training will be provided.
