Investment Specialist (Npsa10) – Accra, Ghana

About the role

The Investment Specialist (Npsa10) will support UNCDF’s mandate to mobilise capital for sustainable development in the least‑developed countries. Based in Accra, the role focuses on designing and delivering blended‑finance solutions that catalyse investments aligned with the 2030 Agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and financial advisory services to Member States and partners on development‑impact investments.
• Design bespoke financial structuring solutions, including grants, loans and guarantees, to crowd‑in private capital.
• Lead the preparation of investment proposals, feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with UNCDF’s strategic units to align financing activities with SDG priorities.
• Monitor and report on the performance of funded projects, ensuring compliance with UNCDF policies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least five years of experience in investment, development finance or blended‑finance mechanisms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UN development frameworks, especially the Doha Programme of Action.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience working with government or multilateral partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
