IT Director

About the role

IPA is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead its global IT function. You will shape strategy, governance and team culture for a distributed organization that supports 450 staff across 20 country offices and a large field‑based workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain and adapt IPA’s IT strategy to align with organizational priorities and resource constraints.
• Own and enforce a practical IT governance framework covering security, access management, data governance, acceptable use, vendor management and emerging technologies.
• Advise senior leadership on technology risks, investment decisions and compliance obligations in clear, non‑technical language.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI and automation and recommend responsible adoption pathways.
• Manage, develop and retain a team of six IT professionals, providing clear direction, feedback and growth opportunities.
• Recruit to fill capability gaps and build a team structure with clear domain ownership and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, multi‑country IT environment.
• Strong ability to translate organizational needs into technology priorities and governance.
• Excellent communication skills for advising non‑technical senior leaders.
• Track record of building and scaling high‑performing IT teams.
