About the role

BASICS International is seeking enthusiastic Kindergarten Teachers to work in an informal learning environment, preparing school‑age children for entry into mainstream schools. The role focuses on early childhood education within a grassroots NGO dedicated to ending child labour and illiteracy in Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver age‑appropriate educational activities that foster cognitive, social and emotional development.
• Prepare children for transition to formal primary education through structured learning sessions.
• Maintain classroom records, attendance and progress reports.
• Collaborate with fellow staff to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• At least one year of post‑qualification teaching experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
