Route-to-Market (RTM) Quality Manager

About the role

The Route-to-Market (RTM) Quality Manager reports to the Quality Director and is responsible for safeguarding product quality and compliance throughout the entire distribution chain, from production facilities to the point of sale, across GBfoods Africa’s markets.

Key responsibilities

• Support the deployment of GBfoods Africa’s Quality Strategy, translating regional goals into RTM‑specific projects, targets and metrics.
• Define and embed Quality Management Standards across the route‑to‑market, from production gates to point‑of‑sale.
• Lead the trade quality monitoring programme, conducting regular on‑shelf assessments, analysing data, identifying trends and driving improvement projects to closure.
• Oversee post‑launch evaluations for new innovations and promotional items, providing timely feedback to brand and operations teams.
• Manage marketplace product quality incidents, conduct root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Lead consumer and customer complaint processes, interfacing with country care lines, handling returns/refusals and supporting customer service teams.
• Develop quality improvement activities based on data from multiple channels, including social media, on‑shelf inspections and warehouse observations.
• Support logistics, warehousing and third‑party partners to ensure compliance in transport, storage and distribution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality management within food or consumer‑goods distribution.
• Ability to lead trade quality monitoring and post‑launch evaluation programmes.
• Strong analytical skills for data‑driven trend analysis and improvement planning.
• Experience handling consumer and customer complaints and coordinating corrective actions.
• Familiarity with logistics, warehousing and third‑party compliance processes.
