Biomedical Engineer

About the role

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research seeks an innovative Biomedical Engineer to support its research objectives. You will collaborate with life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists to develop and maintain cutting‑edge biomedical technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and service biomedical machines, equipment, and related software.
• Design and create biomedical technology such as artificial internal organs, diagnostic devices, and treatment equipment.
• Evaluate safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
• Maintain service histories and perform repairs as needed.
• Provide technical support and training to clinicians, scientists, and other personnel.
• Research new materials, technologies, and engineering aspects of biological systems.
• Write reports, protocols, policies, and standards for equipment use and maintenance.
• Disseminate knowledge through teaching, writing, or consulting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical science, or a related field.
• Professional Licensed Engineer (P.E.) status.
• Minimum two years of relevant biomedical engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
