Digital Transformation Manager – AI & Fintech

About the role

Telecel Ghana is seeking a senior leader to drive its Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation agenda. The role will integrate telecom and fintech services, enhance customer experiences, and create new digital revenue streams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a digital transformation roadmap aligned with growth priorities such as data, digital services, and Telecel Cash.
• Transition the business from a traditional telco to a digital‑first, platform‑driven organization.
• Identify, develop and commercialise new digital revenue streams beyond core voice and data.
• Lead the AI strategy and drive integration between telecom services and the Telecel Cash mobile‑money platform.
• Oversee digitisation of financial services including payments, remittances, merchant services, micro‑lending and bundled offers.
• Collaborate with banks, fintechs and regulators to ensure compliance with Bank of Ghana requirements.
• Enhance adoption and performance of the Telecel Play app, chatbot and other digital channels.
• Redesign end‑to‑end customer journeys across digital, airtime/data purchase and mobile‑money transactions.
• Automate back‑office processes such as onboarding, KYC, support and reconciliation to reduce operational costs.
• Promote an API ecosystem to enable partnerships with fintechs, aggregators and developers.
• Support migration to cloud‑enabled, scalable architectures and foster a digital culture across the organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in telecom, fintech or large‑scale digital transformation roles.
• Proven track record delivering complex transformation initiatives.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities with a structured communication style.
• Experience working in a digital‑native, technology‑focused or start‑up environment.
