Senior Manager, Financial & Operations Audit

About the role

The Senior Manager, Financial & Operations Audit leads high‑quality, value‑driven audits across MTN’s financial and operational functions. Reporting to the General Manager, Assurance, the role ensures independent assurance of governance, risk management and internal controls in a dynamic telecommunications environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the tactical execution of the risk‑based internal audit plan for finance, supply chain, HR, legal, sales, marketing and capital projects.
• Develop detailed audit programs and Risk & Control Matrices aligned with IIA standards and MTN Group methodology.
• Lead and mentor audit teams, review workpapers for accuracy, and ensure findings are well‑substantiated.
• Identify root causes, formulate practical recommendations and monitor implementation to add measurable value.
• Maintain alignment with international audit standards, MTN Group IT standards, and evolving corporate governance principles.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior internal audit or assurance roles, preferably within telecom or large multinational organisations.
• Strong understanding of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA) and risk‑based audit methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex audit engagements and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
