Business Development Manager – Steel Trading (Ghana)

About the role

Drive business development across Ghana, identifying lucrative opportunities in the steel sector, focusing on HRC, CRC, GI, PPGI etc.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and technical consultation through contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyze Ghanaian market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning, and regional demand patterns to develop localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance) to navigate Ghanaian customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with existing clients while aggressively expanding market share to exceed ambitious sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Ghanaian trade events and industry associations to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• English can be used as working language.
• 3+ years of steel international trading experience with a proven track record in steel import/export operations.
• Exceptional negotiation abilities, strong commercial acumen, and an established network within the Ghanaian steel industry.
• Self‑starter with resilience to work independently; comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
