Carbon Project Manager – West Africa

About the role

BURN is seeking a Carbon Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of baseline and monitoring surveys, stakeholder consultations, and related activities for its carbon‑financed Improved Cook Stove (ICS) projects across West Africa. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a detailed Project Gantt chart covering all phases from inception to carbon‑credit issuance.
• Prepare full project budgets, expense reports, and support documentation for each carbon process stage.
• Drive quality assurance from design through implementation and oversee distribution quality audits.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, program requirements, and verification standards, escalating risks as needed.
• Organise and lead local stakeholder meetings, baseline surveys, kitchen performance tests, annual monitoring surveys, leakage surveys, and water‑boiling tests.
• Coordinate field teams, recruit and train data collectors, and manage logistics for on‑ground data collection, including travel within the country and internationally.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex environmental or carbon‑finance projects.
• Strong budgeting and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and engage diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently for field work and meetings.
