Embedded Linux Engineer

About the role

The Embedded Linux Engineer will join the R&D team developing a custom Linux‑based operating system for industrial IoT edge devices. You will work on the Torizon OS, maintain open‑source Yocto layers, and collaborate closely with the team responsible for Toradex BSPs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and add support for Torizon OS on various SoC platforms such as NXP and TI.
• Keep close contact with other R&D teams to ensure a full‑stack approach for Toradex solutions.
• Maintain and expand automated build and test pipelines for Torizon OS.
• Continuously improve DevOps best practices, including CI/CD and test automation.
• Develop and maintain Embedded Linux BSPs, device drivers, and bootloader firmware.
• Port third‑party libraries, create software tools, and manage Debian packages and container images.

Required profile

• Mandatory experience with OpenEmbedded/Yocto and Embedded Linux systems.
• Advanced Linux knowledge and intermediate Docker experience.
• Proactive communication skills.
• Nice‑to‑have contributions to FOSS or Debian projects.
• Willingness to learn OS debugging, build automation, and automated testing techniques.
