Senior Specialist, Training Support

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is hiring a Senior Specialist, Training Support for its Human Resources department at the Obuasi Mine. The role leads the design, execution and evaluation of site-wide learning and workforce development programs, aligns training with business priorities to close skill gaps and reduce reliance on expatriate talent, and builds succession pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Training and Development Section's culture on Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainable Development, including daily and weekly safety communications, safety audits, compliance monitoring, major incident investigations and risk management.
• Design and run competency-based training programs, including National Service and Graduate Trainee programs, and develop individual development plans for high-potential employees.
• Formulate, secure executive approval for and govern the site Localization Plan, Talent Management Framework and Succession Strategy.
• Develop the annual Training and Development budget, coordinate the mine-wide budget and enforce budgetary controls.
• Coordinate site Culture Action Plans and lead, mentor and build the capacity of the Training and Development team.
• Build a continuous improvement pipeline, maintain stakeholder relationships and conduct statutory regulation research.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 6 years of progressive HR experience, including 4 years in a dedicated Training and Development leadership or senior supervisory role.
• Track record of designing, facilitating and evaluating competency-based programs, and hands-on experience with talent frameworks, 9-box talent assessments and individual development plans.

Required skills

• HR knowledge with expertise in Training and Development and Talent Management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Ghana Labour Laws.
