System Administrator – IT Infrastructure & Support

About the role

We are seeking a proactive System Administrator to manage and support our core IT infrastructure. You will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our servers, network services, and web‑hosting platforms for both internal users and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer internet applications such as DNS, RADIUS, LDAP, Apache, Postfix, MySQL and PHP.
• Write and maintain scripts, perform regular backups and restore operations.
• Design, install, configure and maintain clustered, standalone and blade servers running VMware.
• Manage storage solutions including RAID arrays and SAN technology.
• Provide tier‑2 support for web‑hosting, ISP and LAN customers, escalating issues as needed.
• Document server configurations, scripts and procedures in a shared repository.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations Centre to monitor system health, traffic patterns and reliability.
• Analyze hardware requirements, recommend acquisitions and install/rebuild servers according to standards.
• Implement security tools, manage user accounts and enforce password policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in system administration.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related IT field.
• Certificate courses in Linux and Microsoft technologies are preferred.
• Strong ability to work independently or within a team.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation.
