Systems Administrator (IT Infrastructure)

About the role

The University of Ghana is seeking a qualified Systems Administrator to manage and support its information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the university’s computing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain servers, network devices, and storage systems.
• Monitor system performance and resolve incidents promptly.
• Implement security patches, backups, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Provide technical support to staff and faculty.
• Document configurations, procedures, and changes.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in managing enterprise‑level IT infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with university personnel.

Required skills

• Server administration (Windows/Linux).
• Network management (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Backup and recovery solutions.
• System monitoring tools.
