Advisor Project Commercial – Studies (Africa)

About the role

The Advisor Project Commercial will support Newmont’s regional studies across Africa by executing contracting strategies that align with the overall project pipeline. Based in the Accra Hub, you will work closely with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure studies are delivered on time, within budget and to commercial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute fit‑for‑purpose contracting strategies for regional studies, covering pre‑award to post‑award activities.
• Collaborate with project customers to align contracting approaches with study objectives and Newmont commercial standards.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring health & safety expectations and performance criteria are met.
• Coordinate business readiness activities with commercial, project and operations teams.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive timely contracting to keep projects on schedule and budget.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial or supply‑chain experience in sourcing, procurement and contract administration.
• Experience in major study or capital‑project environments and familiarity with various contract types (unit rate, lump sum, cost‑reimbursable, etc.).

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba, Aconex and Contruent.
• Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Ability to apply Stage‑Gate requirements and commercial project management principles.
