Business Development and Operations Lead

About the role

BIH is looking for a Business Development and Operations Lead, a founding role for an entrepreneurial person who will introduce BIH's digital products and services to businesses, institutions and professionals across Nzemaland. The role is close to the customer and the work, with real responsibility from day one, and is based in or near Aiyinasi.

Key responsibilities

• Introduce and grow adoption of BIH's digital products and services among businesses, organisations and professionals across the three Nzema districts.
• Build trusted relationships with business owners, institutions and professionals, understanding their needs and how BIH can serve them.
• Engage the community to understand local needs and opportunities, and share honest findings with the founding team.
• Ensure every product and service is delivered to a high standard, protecting BIH's reputation.
• Help identify promising young people in the community who could thrive in BIH's programmes.
• Support day-to-day operations, handle resources responsibly and give regular, transparent reports to the founding team.

Required profile

• Senior High School certificate; a tertiary qualification is an advantage.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and take ownership without supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, with the ability to win trust and communicate value clearly.
• Fluency in English and Nzema.
• Comfortable with everyday digital tools such as smartphone and mobile money, and eager to keep learning.
• Deep familiarity with the communities across Nzemaland and the ability to move between districts.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, resilience and a desire to create opportunity from within the community.
• Must be based in or near Aiyinasi; this is a hands-on, in-person role.
