Fitness Manager (Local Hire)

About the role

A local hire Fitness Manager is needed in Accra to run a fitness centre within the Spa & Recreation department. The role takes full responsibility for managing the centre and leading the fitness team so that guests' expectations are exceeded and profitability is maximised, in line with the hotel's Fitness vision, brand standards and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations and the fitness team, handle guest interactions and resolve complaints according to Kempinski SOPs.
• Give facility orientations and tours, and provide tailored fitness services to guests and members.
• Keep the team aligned with Kempinski SOPs, maintain client confidentiality and uphold the Health & Safety policy.
• Plan and coordinate with other hotel departments, drive efficient employee scheduling and holiday planning.
• Create monthly goals, train the fitness team and ensure new hires receive a Kempinski and fitness orientation.
• Manage the fitness centre's budget and costs, review monthly costs, and liaise with the hotel financial controller and general manager.
• Drive revenue while controlling costs, and understand inventory, ordering and stock usage.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 5 years' experience in an international-standard health club or similar position as Fitness Manager.
• Previous experience as a hands-on fitness instructor is an advantage.
• Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment, with impeccable grooming standards.

Required skills

• Understanding of budgets, P&Ls and KPIs.
• Proven ability to create a fitness services menu and membership programme, marketing plans and to sell.
• Strong leadership, communication and detail-oriented skills.
