Hotel Cashier

About the role

Susanna Lodge is hiring a full-time Cashier in Accra within its hospitality business. The role covers receiving and processing guest payments for accommodation, food, beverages and other services, keeping accurate cash and billing records, and working closely with the front desk, restaurant, bar and accounts departments.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process payments from guests for accommodation, food, beverages and other services, handling cash, mobile money, debit/credit cards and other approved methods.
• Issue receipts, invoices and bills accurately, verify guest bills and ensure charges are correctly recorded.
• Balance cash and reconcile daily sales at the end of each shift, prepare daily cash reports and submit them to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and payment receipts, and report discrepancies, suspected fraud or irregular transactions to management.
• Keep the cash register and payment systems properly maintained and follow financial procedures and confidentiality policies.
• Respond politely to guest questions about bills and payments, coordinate with the front desk, restaurant, bar and accounts department, and assist with other front desk or administrative duties when required.

Required profile

• Minimum SHS certificate; an HND or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience as a cashier, preferably in a hotel, lodge, restaurant or similar hospitality establishment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of cash handling, billing and payment reconciliation.
• Familiarity with POS systems, hotel management software and mobile money transactions is an advantage.
• Good numerical and record-keeping skills, honesty, attention to detail and excellent customer service and communication skills.
