Isolation Valve Sales Manager - Mining / Oil & Gas

About the role

A highly motivated Sales Manager is sought for the West Africa Hub sales team, reporting to the Isolation Valves Area Sales Manager for West Africa. The role sells, promotes and demonstrates the Isolation valves and Actuation portfolio, with a key focus on the mining and metals industry in Ghana. It covers all customers in Ghana and any others allocated in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual business goals and targets.
• Build strong relationships with key leaders across the product and account portfolio and position Isolation Valve products as the preferred supplier.
• Maintain sales excellence through regular reviews with the sales team and updating the opportunity list in CRM and booking databases.
• Report weekly to the Area Sales Manager and regional leadership.
• Set up the RFQ qualification and priority-setting process for mega projects, and grow business from the installed base.
• Drive competitive displacement in mining and metals, and coordinate plant shutdowns (STO) with other business units.
• Promote modernization, upgrade and expansion opportunities as a trusted advisor, and prepare growth plans, forecasts, pricing surveys and competitor intelligence.
• Lead account and site plans, and establish long-term agreements for services, turnaround and parts with key accounts such as Newmont, Goldfields, Anglogold and Tullow Oil.
• Manage the local channel partner, follow up on closing orders, and ensure ethics and trade compliance.
• Develop and manage KPIs on quotes and work with other divisions to improve pull-through content.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years in valve and sales experience, including metals and mining.
• Proven sales success record and background in proactive selling.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Preferred: sales management or leadership experience, multinational company experience, a sales diploma or MBA.
