About the role
AWASH is seeking a Research Lead or Manager to drive its fish‑welfare research programme in Ghana. The role is remote but requires up to three months of fieldwork in Ghana each year.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement research pilots to identify cost‑effective interventions for juvenile tilapia welfare.
- Improve field data collection protocols and ensure high‑quality, reliable data.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on project data, producing research reports with actionable recommendations.
- Train and develop up to three research associates, enhancing their evaluation skills.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in field research, especially in low‑ and middle‑income country contexts.
- Proven ability to generate reliable data under challenging field conditions.
- Strong statistical analysis skills and familiarity with research design.
- Comfortable working independently, staying organised and adapting to shifting priorities.
