Software Engineer – Telecel Cash

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain high‑quality software solutions that power Telecel Cash products and services. You will work closely with the Solutions Architect, Engineering Manager, and cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and services following approved architecture and engineering standards.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code that meets quality and security requirements.
• Develop and support integrations with banks, payment switches, merchants, regulators and third‑party systems using APIs and middleware.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure reliable data exchange across platforms.
• Participate in unit, integration, system and user‑acceptance testing.
• Support deployments, production releases and post‑go‑live activities, resolving defects as needed.
• Contribute to code reviews, DevSecOps, CI/CD and automation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience in fintech, digital payments, mobile money or telecommunications is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and debugging abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server or Oracle and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices and application security principles.
• Experience with integration technologies, messaging platforms and middleware.
