Mobile Phlebotomist

About the role

MMALABS is seeking a full‑time Mobile Phlebotomist to travel across Kumasi, visiting clinics, homes and other designated sites to collect blood and other specimens. You will ensure each collection is performed safely, accurately and with a patient‑focused approach, supporting the laboratory’s commitment to high‑quality diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and explain the collection procedure.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary draws, preparing the collection site according to protocol.
• Label, document and handle specimens in line with laboratory SOPs.
• Maintain sample integrity during transport and deliver specimens to the central laboratory promptly.
• Follow infection‑control, occupational health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Provide courteous, empathetic interactions and assist with basic administrative tasks.
• Support quality‑improvement activities as required.

Required profile

• Relevant certification or training in phlebotomy or medical laboratory technology (registration with a local or national body is a plus).
• Prior experience as a phlebotomist or in a clinical laboratory/health‑care setting preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a respectful, inclusive approach.
• Ability to travel locally within Kumasi, manage time independently and adhere to company protocols.
• Commitment to confidentiality of patient information and strict infection‑prevention practices.
